

Kaye Thompson-Rogers
Kaye Thompson-Rogers is an Assistant Professor for the School of Education at North Carolina Central University (NCCU),
Durham, North Carolina in the Department of Educational Leadership, Research and Technology. In addition to her regular
instruction, Thompson-Rogers is also an Adjunct Professor for the Youth Offenders Program for the North Carolina
Department of Corrections. Kaye is the Secretary and Budget Manager for University Programs, which includes
convocations and commencements. She has also served as Advisor for the NCCU Graduate Students Association.
Thompson-Rogers is highly involved in professional development and professional activities. She was President of the
National Black Graduate Student Association for 2005-2006. She holds membership in the following organizations: The
National Alliance for Improvement in Higher Education (NAIHE) – Charter Member, National Black Graduate Student
Association (NBGSA); Leadership Person County; Sisters of the Academy; International Who’s Who Historical Society;
NCCU, School of Education Alumni Society; NCCU Alumni Association-Lifetime Member, and the NCCU Alumni-Durham
Chapter; Phi Beta Lambda International Honor Society in Business; Pi Gamma Mu, International Honor Society in Social
Science; and Pi Alpha Alpha International Honor Society in Public Administration.
Kaye has a love for helping young people and adults reach their potentials. She does some of this by using her technology
skills to help students and to help faculty integrate technology in their course preparation and/or teaching curriculum. Her
community service involvement consists of workshops on financial aid, designing and developing resumes, technology tips
and professional development.
Thompson-Rogers values education and believe “A mind is a Terrible Thing to Waste”. She has a Diploma in Computer
Operations, Associate Degree in Accounting, a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration, the Masters Degree in
Public Administration and Masters of Arts Degree in Education Technology and a Ph.D. in Urban Higher Education from
Jackson State University, Jackson, MS. She is very proud that all of her post high school accomplishments have occurred
while she was working full-time and caring for her family.
